How do I get paid?
Payments are instantly transferred to your Stripe account, we don't hold onto your money.
How can my audience donate/support?
Copy your Monetree profile url and share it with your audience. They will be able to instantly send donations and support within one click.
How much does it cost?
Monetree is free. Set up your profile, connect your banking and you're ready to start earning!
How much can I earn?
The world is your oyster when it comes to how much you can earn. The bigger you are able to grow your audience the more money making potential you have. Some creators are receiving tens of thousands of dollars per month.
How do I connect my banking with Stripe?
When you set up your Monetree account, visit the banking page in your profile settings page. Click on the button to visit Stripe's website. If you already have a Stripe account you can enter it at this stage within Stripe's website portal. If you don't have a Stripe account yet, don't worry, you can easily create your new Stripe account at this stage. Stripe's portal will then guide you through the process of either setting up a new Stripe account, which you can connect to your chosen bank account, or confirm your existing account. When completed, you will return to Monetree.com with a Stripe ID token that will link to your Stripe account. Any payments that are then made to you in the future on Monetree go directly to your Stripe account (minus the Monetree commission).
What is Stripe?
Stripe is a leading online payment service provider. We use Stripe to securely process your card payments and handle payments sent to you. For more information about Stripe visit @ https://stripe.com/en-gb
Is Stripe safe?
Stripe is a globally trusted provider of payment solutions and as such it is considered as a safe payment platform, which is why Stripe is our chosen partner as keeping our users data safe is paramount.
When do I receive my funds?
After you have received a payment via Monetree, Stripe generates the payout to your bank account. Timing of payouts vary depending on the industry and country you are operating in. In most cases, you won't receive your first bank payout until 7-14 days after receiving your first successful payment. Subsequent payout processing then happens according to your Stripe account's schedule managed by you within your Stripe Dashboard. This can provide regular bank payouts which take place every 2-4 days depending on your country. For more information on payout frequency see @ https://stripe.com/docs/payouts#standard-payout-timing.
What are the charges?
Whenever you are paid by a supporter using the Monetree platform, 8% of the payment goes to Monetree. In addition to this, a further 1.4% + 20p goes to Stripe for European card payments, whilst in the case of non-European card payments this fee rises slightly to 2.9% + 20p. The rest goes straight to your bank account.
Is Apple Pay and Google Pay accepted?
Not at this moment, however this feature will be arriving soon.
How do I share my profile?
After setting up your Monetree profile there is a button on your profile page that presents the URL link to your profile page on Monetree. It's simply a case of copy and pasting this on to your favourite social platforms. Alternatively, you can copy and paste from the website URL address bar.
Is my data safe?
We are extremely focused on security and we make sure our code frameworks and servers are patched regularly. In addition to application level security utilising industry standard practices we carry out daily off-site backups of your profile data. All payments are made using an encrypted SSL connection and card details use Stripe JS and the Stripe's industry leading servers directly without ever touching our server. In addition all management of your financial information takes place within Stripe itself, and not with Monetree - we simply record the amount you give and receive and send you to Stripe and back using identifier tokens whenever you visit your banking area.
How do I receive notifications?
Notifications are currently sent via email. An area within your dashboard provides you with control over how and when these are sent.
What are connections?
Connections are links to your various social pages or pages of importance. Include connections that mean something to you.
Can I use my Monetree page as a replacement for Linktr.ee and other similar sites?
Yes, your connections can enable you to link all your users to your favourite places.
How do I send a message?
Firstly you must be signed up with a Monetree account. Messages to creators can be sent once you have supported them. After making a successful payment, you must wait to be contacted by the recipient, who will click a link on the supporter card which you created on their profile. At this point you will be invited via a notification to engage with them.
How long can I message a supporter for?
Engagement is allowed for up to 3 days from the initial message sent after supporting.
Can I send a message to a user without supporting them first?
No. You can only send a message to a user after supporting them. Creators are far more likely to engage with an audience who supports them directly. We have chosen to take this approach as we want to create an engaging and positive environment between supporters and creators.
How do I update my profile?
Login and from the menu head to Settings / Profile.
How do I add a profile picture?
Under Settings / Profile you will be able to add or change profile avatars and background photos.
Where can I add more info about myself?
Within the Settings / Profile area you will be able to add a short bio as well as an extended bio under "tell your whole story". In your extended bio you can also add a background image, add a video to your page as well as your social media profiles.
How do I get a coloured ring around my profile?
You achieve a coloured ring around your profile as soon as you have successfully activated and linked your Stripe account to Monetree. This can be carried out by clicking on the link within the Settings / Banking section.
How do I claim my own @ handle?
After signing up, visit your profile page and enter your chosen handle. Grab it whilst you can!
How do I add a photo and what are the best settings?
Visit the posts page and press the button for uploading an image. Images will be presented in the aspect ratio that they are uploaded. Try and keep your images small to minimise bandwidth whilst maintaining quality, we recommend anything from 0.5MB to 4MB.
How do I upload a video?
We embed video directly from Youtube and Vimeo, so copy the URL for the video using the share tools and paste it in the video field.
How to use Vimeo for video uploads?
If you want to keep your videos exclusive to your Monetree profile then we highly recommend using Vimeo. With a Vimeo Plus account you can embed an unlisted video directly to your Monetree page, making it the only place to view the video.
What are tags?
Select one or more of the tags that are offered to you when you submit your post and in future we will use these to help index and link your content to others who share the same interests.
